Indiana's graves range from Crown Hill in Indianapolis, one of the largest cemeteries in the country, to the county-seat and church cemeteries of every one of its 92 counties, with national cemeteries at Marion and New Albany. Families who left for Chicago or the Sun Belt still have people here.

Cold winters, hot summers and a mowing season that runs from April to October. Every arrangement is hand-crafted in outdoor silk so it survives both extremes. Spring (April to May)

The spring clean-up comes in April once the ground thaws. Easter, Mother's Day and Memorial Day deliveries placed after it stay through summer.

Summer (June to September)

Hot, humid and mowed weekly. Flowers belong in the vase or on the stone; lighter silk colors fade slowest in full sun.

Fall (October to November)

Mums and harvest colors for Thanksgiving. Many cemeteries clear in late October or November before snow; deliver after.

Winter (December to March)

Snow and hard freezes. Turning vases are stored; a saddle or an evergreen arrangement against the stone stays above the snow. Silk does not mind the cold.
