Proof of Delivery: How You Know the Flowers Were Actually Placed at the Grave

When you send flowers to a grave you cannot see, proof matters. What the BloomBridge delivery photo shows, when it arrives, where it lives afterward, and what to look for in any graveside delivery service.

Sending flowers to a grave hundreds of miles away takes a certain amount of trust. You will not be there to see them. The cemetery office will not call to tell you they arrived. For years the only confirmation most people got was a credit card charge. That is the problem BloomBridge was built to solve.

What proof of delivery means at a grave

A florist's delivery confirmation tells you a driver handed something to someone. A grave has no one to hand it to. Cemetery offices often do not accept deliveries, and those that do leave the placing to grounds staff on their own schedule. Real proof of delivery for a grave means one thing: a photograph of the flowers in place at that headstone, on the day they were placed.

What the BloomBridge photo shows

Every BloomBridge delivery is made by a local Runner who goes to the grave, places the arrangement in the vase or saddle, and photographs it there. The photo is taken so the arrangement and the headstone are both in frame, with the name readable where the stone allows it. You receive it by email as soon as the delivery is complete.

If the headstone has not been set yet, the photo shows the arrangement at the temporary marker, so you know the right grave was found. If the Runner finds a problem, such as a missing vase, the photo shows you that too, and the arrangement is placed with a stake or saddle where the cemetery allows it. Our guide to how Runners are vetted explains who is taking the picture.

Where the photo goes afterward

The delivery photo also goes to a memorial page for the grave, where every delivery photo is kept, newest first. Families use it as the thing to share: the person who ordered gets the email, and siblings in four states see the same picture on the same day through the page. Over a few years of holidays and anniversaries it becomes a record of the grave through the seasons, and often the only set of photos of the grave anyone has.

On a delivery plan with more than one visit a year, the Runner removes the previous arrangement at each visit and a fresh photo is uploaded, so the page always shows the grave as it looks now.

What to ask any graveside service

  • Who places the flowers? A named person who goes to the grave, or the cemetery office?
  • Will I get a photo at the headstone, and how soon after placement?
  • What happens if the grave cannot be found, or the vase is missing?
  • Does the arrangement follow the cemetery's rules, so it is not removed the next day?

If a service cannot answer those four questions, you are buying hope rather than flowers.

Every BloomBridge delivery comes with a photo of the arrangement at the headstone, emailed to you when it is placed and saved to the grave's memorial page. Choose from the arrangements, or read how grave delivery works.

Frequently asked questions

The only real proof is a photo of the flowers in place at the headstone on the day of delivery. BloomBridge emails that photo as soon as the Runner places the arrangement.

By email as soon as the delivery is complete. The same photo is added to the memorial page for the grave, where family members can see it.

The Runner photographs the arrangement at the temporary marker so you can confirm the right grave was found. Once the headstone is set, later photos show it.
