New Jersey's cemeteries are crowded and close: the great Catholic and Jewish cemeteries of the north, the Pine Barrens churchyards, the shore towns, and national cemeteries at Beverly and Finn's Point. Families who moved to Florida or the Carolinas keep parents buried here within sight of the Turnpike.

Four real seasons, with snow most winters and hot, humid summers. Every arrangement is hand-crafted in outdoor silk so it survives both. Spring (March to May)

The spring clean-up comes in late March or April. Easter and Mother's Day deliveries placed after it stay through summer.

Summer (June to September)

Hot and humid, with weekly mowing. Flowers belong in the vase or on the stone; lighter silk colors fade slowest.

Fall (October to November)

Mums and harvest colors for Thanksgiving. Many cemeteries clear in November before leaf removal; deliver after.

Winter (December to February)

Snow and freeze-thaw. Turning vases are stored upside down; a saddle or a staked arrangement against the stone stays above the snow. Silk does not mind the cold.

Can you place silk flowers at Beverly National Cemetery?

In the permitted windows: roughly mid-October through mid-April and about ten days either side of Easter, Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Fresh flowers are welcome any day. Your Runner follows the posted dates.

How long do the flowers last in New Jersey?

A silk arrangement lasts a season or more, through summer sun and winter freeze. Fresh flowers last days.

Will I know the flowers were placed?

A photo of the arrangement at the headstone is emailed to you after every delivery and added to the memorial page for the family.
