Oregon's cemeteries include Portland's River View and Lone Fir, the pioneer cemeteries of the Willamette Valley, and national cemeteries at Willamette in Portland, Roseburg and Eagle Point. The wet west and dry east of the state have different seasons at the grave.
West of the mountains the rain does the work: mild, wet winters and dry summers. East of them it is high desert. Every arrangement is hand-crafted in outdoor silk so it stands up to both. Fresh flowers are welcome at a national cemetery any day of the year. Silk arrangements are placed in the permitted windows: the winter months and about ten days either side of Easter, Memorial Day and Veterans Day. Your Runner follows each cemetery's posted dates.

Spring (March to May)
Wet and green. The spring clean-up lands in March or April; Easter and Mother's Day deliveries placed after it stay through summer.
Summer (June to September)
Dry and bright, with weekly mowing. Flowers belong in the vase or on the stone; lighter silk colors fade slowest inland.
Fall (October to November)
Rain returns. Mums and harvest colors for Thanksgiving; many cemeteries clear in November, so deliver after.
Winter (December to February)
Wet and mild on the coast, snow inland. Silk shrugs off the rain; a saddle keeps flowers above standing water and snow.
