Washington's cemeteries include Lake View and Evergreen-Washelli in Seattle, the Palouse and Yakima Valley town cemeteries of the dry east, and Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, one of the busiest in the country. The wet west and the dry east have different seasons at the grave.

West of the mountains the rain does the work: mild, wet winters and dry summers. East of them it is high desert. Every arrangement is hand-crafted in outdoor silk so it stands up to both. Spring (March to May)

Wet and green. The spring clean-up lands in March or April; Easter and Mother's Day deliveries placed after it stay through summer.

Summer (June to September)

Dry and bright, with weekly mowing. Flowers belong in the vase or on the stone; lighter silk colors fade slowest inland.

Fall (October to November)

Rain returns. Mums and harvest colors for Thanksgiving; many cemeteries clear in November, so deliver after.

Winter (December to February)

Wet and mild on the coast, snow inland. Silk shrugs off the rain; a saddle keeps flowers above standing water and snow.
